Best blog post about Korea
Not mine, naturally, as I'm far too humble to arrogate to myself the title of best blogger in Korea. Best-looking, possibly.

It would seem that Gord has moved on, from Korea and from Korean concerns (to MMORPGs!), but his experience is the type that I'm striving for.

I have read your blog. I will check for updates in 10 min.
Cal, my guess is you need three years in Korea at least. The first year getting screwed by your employers, the second adjusting and learning the language, so that you can really enjoy your third year. It helps if you have someone special in your life, because, oh yes, I remember, the unbarable solitude.
So I'm not the only one who feels like an utter reject? Who feels that every waking moment of his decrepit existence has gone to waste? Who feels that he is hated, yes hated, by what the songster Bruce Springsteen referred to as the yellow man? Whoo hoo then. I'm still going to take an interlude in China.
Blog! Damn you, blog!
Hey, thanks very much. I don't have trackbacks working right, so I didn't know about this post. But I am flattered.
I agree with Lucecilla; if you like it here, then you really do need a good chunk of time here to get adjusted and adapted so you can enjoy life here. Three years is a good amount of time to adjust, and yet not be fully "stuck" here the way some people end up.
Being a bookworm helps, too. I have someone special in my life, but a lot of the time, she's busy and since I make a point of not barhopping, reading helps fill the time with something worthwhile.
